Golden Syrup
PREMIUM GOLDEN SYRUP
Our Golden Syrup is triple-refined to remove impurities and is further filtered using 5-micron filters, resulting in an ultra-purified syrup suitable for a wide range of food applications.
Just as salt is refined and iodized before human consumption, sugar also undergoes refining to remove impurities. Normal sugar can contain approximately 1–7% impurities, while our Golden Syrup is processed through multiple purification stages for improved quality and consistency.
Ramkripa Golden Syrup is approximately 1.7 times sweeter than normal sugar syrup. Due to the presence of fructose, it can be readily assimilated by the body and offers versatility across a wide range of applications.
It also provides an economical alternative to conventional crystal sugar, delivering enhanced results in various food and beverage applications.
Advanced Technology & Development
The Golden Syrup manufacturing process was developed in collaboration with:
- National Research and Development Corporation (NRDC), Delhi
- Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai
The process is patented by NRDC, making this technology a distinctive offering within the sweetener industry.
We are also an ISO 22000:2005 (HACCP) certified organization, reflecting our commitment to food safety and quality management.
Benefits of Ramkripa Golden Syrup
Golden Syrup contains a combination of sucrose, glucose and fructose. The sweetness synergy between sucrose and fructose provides increased sweetness at the same solids level compared with sucrose alone. This additional sweetness can be particularly useful in fruit-flavoured beverages, where approximately 20% less carbohydrate sweetener may be required compared with a standard invert syrup.

Key Properties
Performance advantages that matter on the production line
Keeps Food Moist & Fresh
Golden Syrup has a high affinity for water. As a humectant, it helps retain moisture in food products and can contribute to extended shelf life.
This additional moisture retention is particularly beneficial in low-fat baked goods, such as:
- Cakes
- Soft cookies
- Bread rolls
These products can become dry and stale more quickly than their full-fat counterparts.
Golden Syrup can also be used as an alternative to glycerol as a humectant in cakes, while providing additional benefits such as:
- Enhanced fruit flavours
- Increased sweetness
- Enhanced colour
- Improved flavour development during cooking
Preservation & Water Activity Reduction
A product with high water activity (Aw) may be more susceptible to microbial contamination, which can negatively affect shelf life. The increased number of sugar molecules in Golden Syrup contributes to higher osmotic pressure, which can inhibit microbial growth. As a result, Golden Syrup can contribute to a more effective preservative effect and improved product shelf life.
Freezing Point Depression
Golden Syrup can lower the freezing point of a solution and help prevent the formation of large ice crystals.
This makes it suitable for applications such as:
- Soft, easy-scoop ice creams and sorbets
- Baked goods held in frozen storage before being released to retailers
- Freeze/thaw-stable cake fillings and toppings
Flavour Enhancement
The fructose in Golden Syrup has a natural synergy with acidic and fruit flavours, helping enhance the flavour profile of various applications.
It can be used in:
- Homemade soft drinks
- Homemade baked goods containing fruit
- Homemade fruit-flavoured confectionery
Flavour & Colour Development
Golden Syrup has a higher tendency to develop colour during heating, making it useful for enhancing colour development during the manufacture of toffees, caramels, and fudges.
